The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association for electronic engineering and electrical engineering (and associated disciplines) with its corporate office in New York City and its operations center in Piscataway, New Jersey. The main scope of the IEEE is dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity . The IEEE was formed from the amalgamation of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers in 1963.
IEEE has over 409,000 members in more than 160 countries, more than 60 percent of whom are from outside the United States. IEEE has More than 125,000 Student members.
The student branch ( SB) of IEEE at Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science(MBITS) was started on 3rd July, 2022 with 34 members .The IEEE SB-MBITS is headed by Branch counselor Prof. Robin George, Asst. Professor, ECE Dept. The Student Chair is lead by Dileep Kumar A. of ECE department. The IEEE SB-MBITS was inaugurated by Dr. Rajesh MV, Chairman, IEEE, Kochi Subsection( Coordinator )
