About the Department

The Electrical & Electronics Engineering department in MBITS was established in the year 2010 with a vision of ‘Excellence in Education and research in Energy areas’. The department has an efficient team of well qualified & committed faculty members and experienced technical staff. 

Our academic program aims to develop competent Electrical & Electronics engineers of high quality, capable of facing various challenges required by the employer and society.

 Liaison with industry in the form of industrial visits, students training, expert lectures and arranging seminars by Alumni and Technocrats are an integral part of our educational program. We aim to mould our students to become future leaders for industry, academia, and the society through a good blend of course work and projects.

Students are exposed to the frontier technologies and to the industries directly and through the students’ chapters of professional bodies like IEI, IEEE etc

We always strive to provide a hand on experience to students by incorporating state-of-the-art machinery and equipment in the lab. The department also has a dedicated R&D wing for the development renewable energy based Electric Vehicles (EVs). The retrofitted solar powered car project received special appreciation from Dr. S Somanath , Chairman, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The other student’s projects were EV with swappable battery, EV with vehicle to vehicle charging and a grid power sharing based EV.

In the fastest growing world of Solar Power and EV sector numerous opportunities are available for EEE graduates in India and abroad. Our department students are placed in various software industries, core electrical companies and few of them are entrepreneurs.

B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Electrical engineers will play a vital role in the future development of a sustainable environment. There is a wide range of challenging paths available to an Engineer, Technologist or Technician. Career opportunities include Industrial research and development labs, Energy supply corporations(KSEB,POWER GRID, etc), Electrical inspectorates, Software and services companies, Communication engineering and Robotics , Civil service, Technical monitoring agencies, Research institutes and educational institutions. Electrical Engineering graduates can also get opportunities in fields such as computer engineering, energy engineering, transport engineering, communications engineering and media.

Electrical engineers deal with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control. They create and design products using scientific principles, combined with natural curiosity, problem solving and innovation. An electrical engineer can be employed in the design and construction of power lines, in the control and management of power stations, or in the design and installation of electrical systems and machinery, such as transformers, electric motors and power electronics.
