As a joint effort from the staff and first batch (2009-2013) students of civil engineering department, ‘STHAPATHY’ was established as the civil engineering association of Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science, Nellimattom in 2010. The formal inauguration of the association was in February 2010. The chief guest of the inaugural function was Mr. Biju Markose, Assistant Executive Engineer, KSEB, Edamalayar. The function started with an introductory speech about the chief guest by Prof. M. V. George (HOD, Department of Civil Engineering). Secretary, Mr. Johnson Kuriakose and Director. Prof. P. M. George addressed the gathering. It was followed by a technical session conducted by the chief guest, Mr. Biju Markose on the topic Hydro Electric Projects of Kerala. The meeting was concluded with a vote of thanks by the students representative Mr. Naveen Sudarshan.
Civil engineering association ‘STHAPATHY’ has been conducting various activities throughout odd and even semesters every year, like organising technical talks, conducting workshops, arranging industrial visit and technical competitions for overall development of the students and civil engineering department.
