The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at MBITS, established in 2009 with an initial intake of 60 students, provides exceptional opportunities for aspiring professionals to acquire the skills necessary to compete in today’s world. With a team of highly competent, dedicated, and dynamic faculty and staff, the department excels in placements, university results, industrial collaborations, project quality, research and development, extracurricular activities, and innovative academic initiatives. Emphasizing both academic excellence and practical skills, the department prepares students to meet modern challenges through a comprehensive infrastructure, active industry collaborations, and a strong focus on both theoretical and practical education.
The department’s modern infrastructure includes well-designed laboratories and lecture halls equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, organized workstations, and robust safety measures. Specialized labs, such as the Industry-Supported Laboratory, sponsored by He-Man Auto Robo Park with technical partnership from NeST Digital, are equipped with advanced tools, including the SEMATIC STEP 7 BASIC V18 and the MPLAB ICD 5 In-Circuit Debugger, which enable real-time debugging of Microchip DSC and MCU devices. The collaboration with NeST Digital further enriches this lab through industry interactions, expert-led workshops, and advanced technical guidance. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between industry and academia by providing state-of-the-art equipment and training resources to students, allowing them to engage in real-world projects and receive mentorship from industry professionals.
The department also boasts a Smart Seminar Hall and an Assembling Workshop. Additionally, the ECE department proudly presents Arise, a startup established by a team of five students. They developed an innovative water overflow detection system, registered under Udyam, marking their journey into service-based solutions and showcasing the department’s focus on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
The department’s consultancy cell maintains electronic equipment for the church and other Mar Basil Group of Institutions affiliated with the college, particularly public addressing systems, and has initiated in-house production of high-quality 9 Watts LED bulbs, tubes, and inverter bulbs.
The department has signed several MoUs, including:
He-Man Auto Robo Park Private Limited, NeST Digital, and ConSed International for manufacturing Conscious Sedation Machines in India, with pre-final year students automating the sedation process as their mini-project.
Revertech IT Solutions, enabling a student to complete an internship as a business development intern.
Regular industrial visits, including to Maker Village and Agappe Diagnostics Limited, enhance practical knowledge and industry exposure.
The department library houses 370 books, including undergraduate titles, competitive exam reference books, and previous university question papers, and maintains copies of student project reports, seminar reports, and course project reports. The library is accessible to both faculty and students for quick reference.
Our alumni network spans prestigious organizations such as Infosys, IBS, TCS, UST, Speridian, Hexaware, Quest Global, VVDN, Experion, and NEST.
