Technical Seminar on ‘Intellectual Property Rights’

A seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was held on July 10, 2025, at Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science, Kothamangalam, in collaboration with the KSCSTE Intellectual Property Rights Information Centre – Kerala. Aimed at raising awareness on IPR among budding innovators and academic professionals, the seminar primarily benefited B.Tech students involved in major academic projects, along with faculty from various departments. A total of 77 participants attended the event. The sessions provided practical insights into protecting and developing innovative ideas. Dr. Kavitha Chalakkal from CUSAT discussed the role of IPR in safeguarding innovation, while Dr. Asha R from KSCSTE explained the Indian patent system and filing process. Ms. Sunanna R, a Patent Consultant, introduced patent search strategies vital for effective research. The seminar encouraged active participation and concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Jibin Wilson, leaving attendees better equipped to protect their intellectual efforts.
