The 3-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Intelligent Connections: Exploring the Synergy of AI and IoT Devices,” held from August 17-19, 2023, was organized by the IEEE Student Branch MBITS in collaboration with IEEE Kochi Subsection. Coordinated by Prof. Robin George, the event provided 65 faculty participants with insights into the integration of AI and IoT. The program featured expert speakers, including Dr. Bijoy A. Jose, who discussed AI applications and challenges, and Er. Midhun M, who conducted hands-on Python programming workshops. Day 2 focused on machine learning, led by Er. Solomon, showcasing its applications in IoT. The final day included talks by Dr. V. John Mathew on bionic limbs and Er. Kallu Sudarsan SS on the practical use of ESP8266 NodeMCU in IoT. The event concluded with positive feedback from participants, emphasizing the program’s success in bridging academia and emerging technologies, enhancing educators’ skills in AI, IoT, and machine learning.
