An expert talk was organized by the IEI Students’ Chapter, Department of Civil Engineering MBITS , on September 18, 2023 behalf of Engineers Day Celebrations The programme was attended by nearly 120 participants including Dr P Sojan Lal (Principal, MBITS), Dr. Solly George (Dean research & Planning), ,Ms. Manju George (Head Dept. of CE) teaching faculty and students from S7, S5 and S3 and S1.
The talk aimed to enlighten the audience about the scientific and technical aspects of India’s lunar exploration program. The technical talk on Chandrayaan-3 was a part of our ongoing efforts to bring cutting-edge topics in space exploration and technology to our college community. The event aimed to provide participants with insights into the advancements in space science, the intricacies of lunar exploration, and the role of ISRO in shaping India’s presence in space. Er. Shibu Mathew provided a detailed overview of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, explaining its objectives, scientific goals, and the advancements it brings compared to previous lunar missions. The talk delved into the scientific instruments and payloads onboard Chandrayaan-3, shedding light on how these tools contribute to our understanding of the moon’s composition, topography, and geological features. The discussion concluded with insights into the future prospects of lunar exploration, including ISRO’s long-term vision and potential collaborations with other space agencies
