Plastic Cleaning Drive on 17 January 2026 at Kavalangad Grama Panchayath

As part of its commitment towards environmental protection, the NSS Unit (Unit 227) of Mar Baselios Institute of Technology And Science organized a Plastic Cleaning Drive on 17 January 2026 at Kavalangad Grama Panchayath. The main aim of the programme was to remove plastic and other non-biodegradable waste from public areas and roadsides, thereby promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness among the local community. The drive also helped instill a sense of social responsibility and discipline among the NSS volunteers.The volunteers actively participated in the cleanliness drive by covering selected stretches along the route from MBITS college to Kavalangad. During the activity, approximately 127 kg of plastic waste was collected. The collected waste was later handed over to Haritha Karma Sena for proper segregation and safe disposal.
