The program commenced with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Thomas George, Principal, MBITS. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Sam Paul, Superintendent, Taluk Headquarters Government Hospital, Kothamangalam. An overview of the topic was presented by Sri. Abraham, President of the Kothamangalam Taluk Pain and Palliative Care Society.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Dain George, ENT Specialist, highlighting the importance of hearing health and risks associated with noise exposure. This was followed by an informative awareness class on hearing health by Smt Mahima, Audiologist, Taluk Government Hospital, Kothamangalam. The session emphasized preventive measures against noise-induced hearing loss, especially relevant to mechanical engineering students exposed to high-noise environments.
The program included a facilitation by Prof.Nedheesh Eldho Baby, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and a vote of thanks by Prof. Paulson Peter, Principal, MBITS Polytechnic College. The event concluded with a basic hearing screening and medical check-up conducted by Dr. Dain George.
The program was highly informative and beneficial, creating strong awareness among S2, S4, S6, and S8 Mechanical Engineering students about hearing conservation and workplace safety.
