Machining precision and technical excellence were highlighted in the Lathe Master competition conducted as part of KARNAK’26.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science organized Lathe Master as part of KARNAK’26 on 27 February 2026 at the Manufacturing Technology Lab. The event tested participants’ machining skills, precision, and efficiency in lathe operations, providing a platform for hands-on learning and healthy competition. Students actively participated and showcased their technical abilities under proper supervision and safety measures. Nandana Sunil (S4 ME) secured the first prize. The event was coordinated by student coordinators Midhun Suresh (S6 ME) and Abil T T (S4 ME) under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Vijay Raj M M.
