On October 15, 2025, the Mechanical Engineering Association and the Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) at Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science (MBITS), Kothamangalam, had the distinct privilege of hosting a highly informative and engaging expert talk by Mr. Anil Gopinath, CSP, CMIOSH. Mr. Anil Gopinath is a highly skilled Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) with a comprehensive background spanning over 32 years in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). His experience includes 18 years of distinguished service in Airfield Safety, Fire & Rescue operations within the Indian Air Force, as well as international consultancy work with the United Nations and in the Middle East. As a proficient trainer and consultant, he specializes in subjects ranging from Risk Management to Safety Leadership and Emergency Preparedness.
The session, titled “Educate, Empower & Enforce Safety in Industry 4.0,” provided bright undergraduate learners from the Mechanical and other Engineering Departments with essential insights into the evolving role of safety in the era of automation, AI, and smart manufacturing.
The talk successfully equipped attendees with the dynamic knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to safer work environments and prevent accidents in the rapidly changing industrial landscape.
