Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) Collaborating with Industry Attachment
Cell APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Planned to map some of the urban local bodies
in Kerala (Municipalities and Corporations). CE department showed interest to map
Kothamangalam Municipality which was formed in 1978, Area 37.45 square kilometers
consisting of 31 electoral wards. Training on mobile app and other Technical supports were
provided during the project for all technical issues. Details regarding boundaries of municipality
have been collected from the municipal councilors. Second year and above students were
involved in carrying out the project. Total remuneration was Rs. 50000. The collected data was
validated by the individual ward councilors. Three months long project of Mapping of
Kothamangalam municipality was completed successfully on 15/01/2022.
