Mechanical Engineering Department Association successfully conducted a two-day seminar on “Japanese Management Practices and Introduction to Industrial Automation” from January 31st to February 4th, 2025. The session was led by Mr. Sasi Kumar, Deputy Manager of SMC India (Training & Marketing Department), who brings over 22 years of industry experience.

Training Highlights
The training covered key concepts of Industrial automation and Japanese management techniques, focusing on:
Day 1:
- Levels of Technologies
- Pneumatic Systems
- Kaizen, PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), 5S Methodology
- 7 Wastes (Muda) & 3M (Muri, Muda, Mura)
Day 2:
- 7QC Tools (Seven Quality Control Tools)
The seminar concluded with a 40-mark test, assessing participants’ understanding of the topics covered. An advanced three-day training program is scheduled for the top 20 students in the upcoming month.
This initiative enhances students’ industrial knowledge and prepares them for real-world automation challenges.
