The Lathe Chuck Assembly Competition was successfully conducted to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their technical and assembly skills. During the event, students were given a set of lathe chuck components and a limited time to assemble a fully functional lathe chuck. The competition tested the students’ practical knowledge, precision, and ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
Each team consisted of two members, and a total of seven teams participated in the event. Prof. Jikku George Kuruvilla from the Mechanical Engineering Department served as the staff coordinator for the competition. The student coordinators were Mr. Andrews Scaria Johns (S6 ME) and Mr. Seth Abraham (S2 ME).
The first prize was won by Mr. Abhimannue Reni and Mr. Abhinath Soman (S4 ME), who received a cash prize of ₹2000. The second prize, along with a cash prize of ₹1000, was awarded to Mr. Jerit Tomy and Mr. Basil Varghese (S4 ME).
