The IEEE Student Branch, MBITS organized an informative online technical talk on the topic “Role of AI in VLSI” on 13 September 2025 at 7:00 PM. The session was handled by Mr. Praveen Kumar, Lead Application Engineer, Cadence, who delivered an insightful presentation on the integration of Artificial Intelligence in modern VLSI design and verification processes.
During the session, Mr. Praveen Kumar explained how AI and machine learning techniques are increasingly being adopted to address the growing complexity of VLSI systems. Key areas such as automated design optimization, intelligent placement and routing, power estimation, defect detection, and design verification were discussed in detail. He also highlighted the role of AI-driven EDA tools and how companies like Cadence are advancing the future of semiconductor technology through intelligent automation.
The online talk attracted active participation from students and faculty members. The interactive Q&A session provided an opportunity for participants to clarify their doubts and gain deeper insights into emerging industry trends in semiconductor design.
