A workshop on Introduction to KiCAD – PCB Design Software was conducted by Prof. Teena Abraham (Asst. Professor) and Ms. Lathika S (Lab Instructor), Department of ECE.
The workshop covered the fundamentals of KiCAD, including schematic capture, component library usage, footprint assignment, and netlist generation. Participants were also guided through a hands-on PCB design process and introduced to routing techniques, layer management, and layout optimization.
The session improved participants’ familiarity with the KiCAD software interface and its various tools. By the end of the workshop, participants gained a complete understanding of the PCB design workflow—from schematic development to board layout. The workshop also helped build confidence in using open-source EDA tools for academic and practical PCB design applications.A total of nine participants, including faculty members and technical staff from various departments, attended the program.
